Jorge Andrés specializes in providing legal advisory services to domestic and international clients from a range of industries, including automotive, energy, maritime, aerospace and art. His dispute resolution practice includes litigation and defense in disputes arising from tax audits and refund requests. In the areas of tax consulting and asset planning, he has advised companies and high net-wealth individuals on the recovery of VAT credit balances, corporate restructuring processes and the structuring of complex transactions.
Experience
Jorge Andrés Castillo Silva is a member of the Tax practice at Garrigues' Monterrey office.
He has represented taxpayers in challenging tax debts and tax refund denials before the federal courts, participating in matters that have reached the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, including representing clients in the automotive, maritime, and aerospace industries, among others.
He has also obtained favorable outcomes in conclusive agreements before the Mexican Tax Advocate. In the tax advisory area, he has participated in the recovery of VAT credit balances by companies in the energy sector in the pre-operating period and in corporate restructuring processes. In the estate planning area, he has advised high net-wealth individuals on the structuring and transfer of high-value intangible assets. Before joining Garrigues, he interned at law firms specializing in tax, commercial and corporate matters.
During the summer of 2025, he completed a secondment at Garrigues' Madrid office, working with the Tax Department, specifically in the International Tax practice, and the Corporate/Commercial Department, specifically in the Financial Regulation practice, participating in matters relating to the structuring of cross-border transactions for a multinational energy company and expanding his knowledge of European Union law through the analysis of the regulatory framework applicable to FinTech entities.
He is a native Spanish speaker and has a professional command of English.
