Irene Solera is a senior associate in the Garrigues Tax Department, having joined the firm in 2015.
She specializes in tax law and is a member of the tax litigation group. She regularly advises Spanish companies and multinational groups both on technical issues relating to their day-to-day tax affairs and on matters relating to inspection proceedings and appeals before the Spanish courts (National Appellate Court, Supreme Court, etc.).
She also specializes in corporate tax governance.
She holds a dual Degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master’s Degree in Tax Law and Legal Practice from Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
Experience
Irene Solera specializes in tax law, with a primary focus on tax litigation. Her experience includes:
- Ongoing advice to Spanish companies and multinational groups on technical issues relating to their day-to-day tax affairs (corporate income tax, local taxes, personal income tax withholdings and nonresident income tax, etc.).
- Advice in audit proceedings (inspections, management, etc.) conducted by the tax authorities, as well as in proceedings commenced by taxpayers to obtain refunds of incorrectly paid tax.
- Advice on corporate tax governance matters.
- Advice in proceedings against the tax authorities before the various Spanish courts (National Appellate Court, Supreme Court, etc.).

- Master’s Degree in Tax Law and Legal Practice, Centro de Estudios Garrigues.

Irene is a regular speaker in seminars and conferences organized by the firm.
