Ignacio is a senior associate in the Tax practice area of Garrigues, providing tax advice on an ongoing basis to individuals and numerous companies (mostly multinationals) from a broad range of sectors. He has been particularly active in counseling companies from the manufacturing, extractive and cement and pharmaceutical industries, having built up considerable knowledge of the specific tax issues commonly arising in these sectors and their structures.

He has expertise in advising domestic and foreign companies, private equity groups and other entities on the financial sector on the tax aspects derived from acquisitions of Spanish companies, including the analysis and design of the purchase structure, the due diligence review prior to the purchase and on tax aspects related to leasing transactions. It must be highlighted his wide experience advising on tax matters related to financial leasing operations.

He also has significant expertise in all kind of tax procedures before the Spanish tax authorities, tax audits, appeals before economic-administrative tribunals and court proceedings, having provided advice at all stages of the procedure and before many different tax administrations.

Degree in Law and Business Administration, from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE E-3).

Executive Master's Degree in Business Law from Centro de Estudios Garrigues in association with Harvard Law School.
