Guillermo Avilés Suárez is a senior associate in Garrigues’ tax department, having joined the firm in 2015. Among other practice areas, he has experience in:

1. Taxation of real estate companies and real estate sale and purchase transactions.
2. Preparation of tax due diligence reports.
   
3. Analysis of investment structures in Spain and abroad.
4. Within the tax litigation group, he frequently acts before the various Spanish courts (Supreme Court, National Appellate Court, etc.) and economic-administrative courts (TEAC/TEAR) in disputes with the tax authorities and he has acted in proceedings conducted before the EU Court of Justice. He also  advises clients in tax audits and in procedures for the derivation of tax liability.
5. Tax advice to multinational companies and small and medium-sized enterprises (mainly telecommunications, real estate and retail).

He has worked at Taxand Netherlands office as part of the firm's International Training Program.

He has been a lecturer in seminars and courses on real estate taxation and tax litigation at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, at the Spanish Association of Tax Advisers (AEDAF) and UNIR University.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
