Francisco Álvarez is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation and Arbitration area at Garrigues’ Santiago de Chile office. His practice focuses on civil and commercial court and arbitration proceedings, with extensive experience in dispute resolution and out-of-court negotiations. He also advises and represents companies in consumer protection and advertising matters, both in court and also in administrative proceedings before regulators such as the National Consumer Service.
Experience
He has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as in out-of-court dispute resolution and negotiations, where he has advised clients in the real estate, retail and investment industry, among others. He has also represented clients both before the ordinary courts and in arbitration proceedings.
He advises and represents companies in consumer protection and advertising matters, both in court and also in administrative proceedings before the National Consumer Service (SERNAC). In this area, his practice also includes preventive advice to clients on the protection of consumers’ rights.
Before joining Garrigues, Francisco was a senior associate at Barros Silva Varela & Vigil (2024–2026), which he joined as an associate (2017–2023).
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
