Filipa Farinha Santos is a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration department of Garrigues and has extensive experience in matters relating to civil and commercial litigation, as well as domestic and international arbitrations.
She also provides recurring legal advice to national and international clients in the areas of debt collection and insolvency litigation.
Filipa is bilingual, being fluent in both English and Portuguese, and has a strong command of the Spanish language.

Filipa joined Garrigues' Litigation and Arbitration team as an associate in September 2015 and is a senior associate since 2020.
In addition to providing recurrent advice to national and international clients on pre-litigation matters, Filipa has an active intervention in judicial proceedings in different areas of law, with a special focus on proceedings related to contractual, consumer, construction and insolvency matters.
Filipa also has extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, having represented clients in cases related to multiple jurisdictions.
Academic background:
Filipa has a Law Degree from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and completed the II Post-graduate course in Arbitration at the same institution in 2009.
In addition to her academic life, Filipa has also attended several specialisation courses in the areas of civil litigation and arbitration.

Filipa has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2011.
