Diego has experience in capital markets, advising both issuers and underwriters on the structuring of public offerings of equity, quasi-equity and debt and their issuance, as well as in banking and finance, participating in major financing and refinancing deals in representation of foreign and domestic financial institutions.
In the area of mergers and acquisitions, Diego has advised buyers, sellers and financial advisors on the sale of companies and assets in various sectors, including acquisitions through tender offers, leveraged buyouts and reorganizations, with special emphasis on advising private equity funds in the structuring and in acquisitions and divestitures of companies and assets.
Experience
Diego García Fernández Mora is an associate in the Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practices. His track record includes most notably representing various companies in structured and financing transactions between 2018 and 2024. He also participated in the structuring and issuance of trust certificates for investment projects in Mexico, and in the issuance of convertible bonds related to a partial divestment in the beverage industry.
In the capital markets area, he assisted in the issuance of trust certificates in two tranches for a steel company, and in the purchase of a logistics company by an investment fund. Diego was also involved in the structuring of an investment fund in association with a private equity firm.
He took part in a public offering of trust certificates for a Korean financial institution, and in the purchase of a company in the logistics sector and the sale of a fast food franchise chain in Mexico. In the energy sector, he advised on a syndicated loan for the construction and operation of a gas compression platform at a large gas field in Mexico.
He was part of the team that worked on the restructuring of a syndicated loan for a pharmaceutical company and participated in the grant of a secured loan for a Mexican company in the telecommunications sector. He also represented an automobile company in multiple public offerings of trust certificates.
He is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
