Cynthia Zhou is a principal associate in the tax department.
She has extensive experience in individual and corporate taxes, customs and foreign exchange consulting and compliance. She mainly advises foreign investors on forms of investment (i.e., wholly foreign-owned enterprise, joint venture, representative office, branch), choice of location (i.e., special zone vs. non-special area), desirable holding structures (i.e., appropriate holding vehicle in light of treaty benefits), and regulatory and tax implications in connection with setting up foreign investment enterprises in China.
She has helped multinationals identify and address tax and foreign exchange control issues arising from ongoing operations, and provide tax advices on efficient expansion and restructuring planning and repatriation of profits from China.
