Crescente Ovalle is a senior associate in the Administrative and Constitutional Law area of Garrigues’ Santiago de Chile office. His practice focuses on corporate, environmental, and regulatory advisory services, with a special emphasis on the energy sector, as well as on administrative litigation. He advises clients on public and environmental law matters in the context of investment projects, proceedings before regulatory authorities, and the resolution of disputes with government agencies. He has a Master of Laws, with a specialization in European Comparative Law, from Freie Universität Berlin.
Experience
He is a general practice lawyer with over 10 years of experience in environmental, energy, and regulatory law. He advises companies operating in regulated markets on both regulatory compliance and defense in administrative and judicial penalty proceedings, as well as on the environmental and regulatory aspects of projects.
His practice focuses on regulatory risk prevention and management, the steps for legal authorization of investment projects, and civil and regulatory litigation. He also has significant experience in corporate advisory work and in preparing due diligence reports for companies in the energy, mining, and forestry sectors.
Prior to joining Garrigues, Crescente was a senior associate at Barros Silva Varela & Vigil (2024–2026); a senior associate at Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría (2021–2023), an executive director at Independientes no Neutrales (2020–2021) and an associate at Correa Squella (2016–2019).
