Claudia Ferreiro is a partner in the Planning, Zoning and Environment area of Garrigues’ Santiago de Chile office. Her practice centers on environmental and regulatory law, with a special focus on environmental impact assessments for investment projects, administrative penalty proceedings, and defense of clients in dealings with government agencies. She also advises on processes for the award of concessions, on the preparation of reports regarding the environmental institutional framework and on regulatory reviews as part of due diligence processes. She has deep knowledge of the electricity sector and its regulatory framework, having advised on large-scale energy projects. Claudia has over twenty years’ professional experience, and holds a postgraduate diploma in administrative penalty law from Universidad de Valladolid (Spain).

Her practice centers on environmental, regulatory and administrative penalty law, with a focus on environmental impact assessments for investment projects, litigation before environmental tribunals, and defense of clients in dealings with supervisory bodies. She has advised businesses in the energy, electricity, forestry, natural resources and infrastructure sectors on the obtainment of permits and on related litigation and penalty proceedings.
Before joining Garrigues as a partner, Claudia was a partner at Correa Squella (2010–2021), where she helped structure the environmental law practice. Prior to that she worked as a lawyer at the National Environmental Commission (2006–2010), the Electricity and Fuels Supervisory Authority (SEC) (2005–2006) and on the Stationary Source Emissions Control Program of the Metropolitan Environmental Health Service (1998–2005).
She is fluent in Spanish and English.
