Carlos Fernández is Senior Associate in the Tax Department of Garrigues.
With over nine years of experience, he provides ongoing tax advice to national groups, multinationals, and family businesses, both Spanish and foreign, regarding the general management of their applicable taxes, as well as advising them on tax audits and investigations.
He holds a Law Degree from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, specializing in Public Law and Public Policy, and a Master's degree in Tax from Centro de Estudios Financieros (CEF).
Experience
Carlos Fernández joined Garrigues in 2025 as Senior Associate in the Tax Deparment at Valencia.
Previously, he worked in the Madrid offices of EY (Ernst & Young), where he provided ongoing tax advice as Tax Manager to a broad portfolio of national and multinational clients, and participated in the review of the tax aspects and criteria of audits of listed companies and groups. Additionally, between 2021 and 2024, he also performed the aforementioned functions in the Tax department of the EDP Group in Madrid, and leaded the Tax M&A Team in the purchase / sales of photovoltaic and wind projects within Spain.
