Ángel has over 7 years’ professional experience both in the tax area and in the accounting and financial areas, advising national and international clients mainly in relation to tax compliance derived from corporate restructuring processes and audits.

He has also worked with clients from the energy (O&G), technology, real estate, consumption and health sectors.

Prior to joining Garrigues, Ángel belonged to prestigious consulting firms where he collaborated with multicultural teams on the design of internal and external processes focused on providing excellent customer service. In addition, his work has been focused on tax compliance for international private equity groups, advising both investors and the entities of those business groups.

Ángel Vélez has been an associate in the Tax practice area since 2025.

He has extensive experience advising clients from an array of industries in relation to their tax obligations and providing consulting and compliance services.

Moreover, he provides recurring advice to clients, analyzing structures of transnational business groups with operations in Mexico to determine their tax efficiency.

In addition, he has broad experience advising international private equity groups with investments in the United States regarding their Mexican tax obligations.

He is fluent in Spanish and English.
