Alberto Pimenta is the partner in charge of the Litigation and Arbitration Department at Garrigues, where he has pursued his entire professional career. He specializes in defense and case management in civil and corporate/commercial litigation: obligations and contracts, noncontractual liability, company law (challenging corporate resolutions, director liability and other shareholder disputes, etc.), side agreements, financial product-related litigation, unfair competition, exequaturs of foreign rulings, etc.
He regularly acts in proceedings conducted before jurisdictional bodies and arbitration courts on both domestic arbitrations (Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry Court of Arbitration, Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration, etc.) and international cases (ICC International Court of Arbitration).
Pimenta has been singled out by several directories, including Iberian Lawyer, Legal 500 and Chambers&Partners in the “Dispute Resolution” practice area, as one of the key individuals highlighted by the publication, which named the Firm a Band 1 firm in the litigation area.
He has been an Associate Lecturer in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department at Universidad de Salamanca (commercial contracts and security instruments). He also lectures at Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
He is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences staged by the Firm and various specialized centers.
