Transport and logistics

We provide expert advice on logistics, land and air transport to companies in the sector (freight forwarders, shipping agencies, logistics operators) in relation to claims for damage to goods and international contracts.

International trade

We have extensive experience in the international sale of goods (commodity law) and in imports and exports by Spanish businesses, documentary credit, and international terms of sale and their implications for the international carriage of goods.

Rrepresentation and defense in disputes

We defend and represent our clients in all disputes deriving from transport activities in any jurisdiction, including cargo claims, marine insurance claims, arrest of ships and cases of maritime fraud, as well as in maritime arbitration proceedings before the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), the German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA), the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) and other international forums. We also represent clients in administrative penalty proceedings relating to merchant shipping and any judicial review thereof.

Our services include the registration of ships on the Special Register of ships and shipping companies of the Canary Islands (REBECA) and on offshore registers, flagging, authorizations for short sea shipping lines, and advice on reductions and exemptions under the special register.

Ship sale and purchase, construction and financing. We are experts in shipbuilding contracts, shipyard and shipbuilder liability, project finance, ship sale and purchase agreements, contractual reviews and advice on tax implications (tonnage tax).

Expert advice to the fishing industry

We assist in the creation of public-private partnerships and joint ventures in the fishing and aquaculture industry, advising on Spanish and European aid and subsidies available to owners of fishing vessels, on administrative procedures and licenses, and on commercial fishing insurance.

Specific advice to passenger lines

We advise the cruise industry on contractual matters and on claims relating to works and fitting out of the interior of vessels, on the establishment of separate activities onboard and on passenger claims.

Crew management

We offer crew management assistance to shipowners and manning and crewing companies, advising on procedures for non-EU crewmembers, social security matters on vessels used for international trade, collective disputes and the implementation of international safety codes, and on maritime labor aspects in general.

We represent our clients in major marine casualties and accidents, such as salvage, collision, general average, wrecks and abandonment, legal action arising from towing contracts, removal of remains, and maritime pollution.
