The Real Estate Credit Law introduces a new regime of early termination of mortgage loans on an individual´s main residence

The new Real Estate Credit Law, passed by the Spanish Parliament on February 21st 2019 includes a set of brand new rules on early termination due to default (for more information click here) that will have a direct impact on the underwriting and modelling processes of secured lenders, namely the buyers of non-performing loans portfolios (NPLs).

The new Trade Secrets Law gives the go-ahead for Government to approve revised Insolvency Law

Trade Secrets Law 1/2019 was published in the Official State Gazette on February 21, 2019. In Final Provision number three, for the purpose of bringing under the same instrument all the amendments included in the Insolvency Law since it came into force, the Government has been authorized to prepare and approve a revised Insolvency Law within an eight-month period from the entry into force of that Law 1/2019.
