Mexico charts its roadmap to develop the lithium value chain through 2030

The program aims to boost national capabilities in exploration, processing, energy storage and battery manufacturing, although its execution will largely depend on the approval of new regulatory developments and the availability of public resources.
On July 24, 2026, the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) published the Notice announcing the Institutional Lithium Program for Mexico 2026-2030 (PIL), issued by Litio para México (LitioMx).
