Garrigues has come out as the only European law firm shortlisted as “International Law Firm of the Year” at the awards organized every year by the British legal publication, The Lawyer. The Firm will compete against five US powerhouses, Debevoise, Hogan Lovells, Paul Hastings, Quinn Emanuel y Weil Gotshal.

In what has been the most competitive year, where The Lawyer has received its highest ever level of entries, according to its editor Catrin Griffiths, Garrigues has positioned itself under the spotlight in a category that recognizes the international trajectory of the best firms worldwide.

The Senior Advisory Judging panel, integrated by outstanding in-house counsel and private lawyers from the best firms in London, alongside The Lawyer editorial team, has undertaken a mammoth task of shifting through the entries and conducting a huge research process, interviewing hundreds of lawyers and their clients to supplement the nominations.

They have especially recognized the firms’ international service and their clients’ satisfaction; their growth (Garrigues has grown almost 13 percent in fiscal year 2009); the importance of the transactions completed; and the management undertaken by the managing partners.

The final winner will be announced in the Awards Ceremony that will take place in London on June 22nd.
