Garrigues is also the leading firm for Spanish announced deals, with 14 deals having a combined value of US$26,485.4 representing a market share of 54.6%, and in the top six firms in Spain for completed deals with a 22.4% market share.

The firm is also Mergermarket’s leader in the Iberian market for the second quarter of 2005. In the European tables, the firm has leapt from 47th for the same period last year to 16th this year.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognised as one of the leaders in Europe, and certainly the leader in Spain, for M&A advisory work,” said Fernando Vives, head of the Corporate Group. “The league tables for this period reflect our commitment to our clients and our expertise in and understanding of the European M&A market.”

According to Thomson Financial, the firm is also among the top 10 firms for announced Benelux deals; in the top 15 for announced Italian deals; in the top 20 for Italian completed deals; and in the top 20 for both Latin American completed and announced deals.
