Garrigues Mexico brings on a specialized tax litigation team under the leadership of Manuel Llaca

Garrigues has strengthened its Mexico office by recruiting Manual Llaca and a team of four expert tax litigation lawyers. By hiring these professionals, Garrigues consolidates its Mexico City office and shores up the Tax Department throughout all of Latin America. Garrigues runs a tax practice in the 13 countries in which it operates, including its five regional head offices (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru).
Manual Llaca has joined Garrigues at partner level. With over 20 years’ experience, he specializes in tax proceedings and is a pioneer in applying alternative dispute resolution methods in the Mexican legal sector. He boasts a very solid academic background, has authored numerous tax-related publications, forms part of several professional associations, and has earned a place in the main international legal directories.
Eduardo Abad, partner in charge of Garrigues’ Tax Department, stated that he is satisfied with the efforts taken to bring this team into the firm, to further develop the tax practice in Mexico and in the region.
