According to Thomson Reuters (Global Mergers & Acquisitions Review Legal Advisors – Full year 2012 report) and Mergermarket (M&A Round-up for 2012) League Tables, Garrigues has led the legal M&A advice within the Spanish market in 2012.
Garrigues tops the Thomson Reuters ranking of legal advisors both by value (29,548$m for announced deals and 35,353 US$m for completed deals) and by volume (55 and 62 deals, respectively). In addition, Garrigues is the only Spanish firm within the European Top 25 (in 14th position) on the list of European completed deals.
In the Mergermarket tables, Garrigues is at the top of the list by number of deals (44) and ranks 3rd by value (12,463 US$m), being one of the few Spanish law firms that has been able to increase the total value of advised deals in 2012. Mergermarket also ranks the Iberian market (Spain and Portugal), where Garrigues also heads the table by number of deals and ranks 4th by value.
