The Confederation of Polish Employers honors Antonio Garrigues with a 2007 Vector Award

The Panel of Judges expressly acknowledged the Firm’s role in “significantly boosting the numbers of Spanish investors in Poland”

Antonio Garrigues emerged as one of the winners of the 2007 Vector Awards, handed out by the Confederation of Polish Employers. The Confederation wished to expressly acknowledge the high standard of the service that Garrigues provides to its clients, “thanks to which, the number of Spanish investors in Poland has seen a significant increase”.

Antonio GarriguesAbre ventana nueva emerged this weekend as one of the winners of the 2007 Vector Awards, handed out on an annual basis by the Confederation of Polish Employers. As well as highlighting the work of the Firm’s Chairman, the Confederation wished to expressly acknowledge the high standard of the service that Garrigues provides to its clients, “thanks to which, the number of Spanish investors in Poland has seen a significant increase”. 

The Vector Awards are perhaps Poland’s most prestigious economic and business awards and reward the efforts and achievements of firms or institutions that have played their part in furthering the development of Poland’s economy and society.

In the case of Garrigues, the Panel of Judges pointed to the work being performed by the Firm’s Warsaw officeAbre ventana nueva, which opened for business one year ago. The office is currently staffed by a 20-strong team of professionals, serving the various business lines and helping to cement the significant ties forged between Spain and Poland.

In addition to Antonio Garrigues, the other winners of the 2007 Vector Awards were Ludwik Sobolewski, Chairman of the Polish Stock Exchange, Telekomunikacja Polska, the Polish telecoms company, Dimitris Dimitriadis, President of the European Economic and Social Committee, Henryk Leszczynski, the Chairman of the transportation company PKS Szczecin, and Roman Mlodkowski, the Chairman of the Polish television channel CNBC.

Winners of this year’s special “Super Vector” awards (ex aequo) were former U.S. Vice-President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore for his fight against global warming, and Donald Tusk (Polish Prime Minister) and Waldemar Pawlak (Deputy Prime Minister) in recognition of their efforts in governing the country in coalition following the recent Polish elections.

Previous winners of the Super Vector Awards include Lech Walesa, former President of Poland and historic leader of the “Solidarity” labor union in 2006.
