Marta López-Brea Prous
Marta López-Brea Prous is a principal associate in the Corporate/Commercial Law department. She has spent her entire career at Garrigues and is an expert in securities market law, and banking and financial law.
She has broad experience in securitization, a practice she has specialized in since 1997, as well as in a wide range of structured transactions (structured bonds, financial derivatives, project finance, project bonds, corporate finance) and other banking transactions. In light of her experience, she has taken part in many of the most innovative securitization and structured financing deals performed in Spain in recent years, garnering plaudits from various national and international publications.
She has featured in several directories, such as the IFLR 1000, which singled her out as a “Rising Star” in Structured Finance and Securitization and ranked Garrigues as a top tier firm in the financial and corporate area, Best Lawyers (Capital Markets Law in Spain), and the Chambers & Partners guide (both the Chambers Global and Chambers Europe editions), which highlighted Marta as a notable practitioner in the capital markets practice area (as part of the team of securities market experts praised by the guide) and classified Garrigues as a band 2 firm in Spain.
