Irene González is a partner of the Tax Department of “Garrigues” in Málaga, where she has developed her professional career after her stint in “Arthur Andersen, Tax and Legal Advisers” once she finalized college in 1996.
She is specialized in tax law, mainly in the area of indirect taxation and tax litigation, being herself a member of the working VAT, Revenue Procedure, Real Estate and Hotels and Tourism groups of “Garrigues”. She is responsible for the VAT and indirect taxation specialized line from the Eastern Andalusia area.
Given her experience, she advises all types of businesses located in the aforementioned area in complex tax procedures with the various Tax Administrations (national, regional and local), and regarding issues which require specialized knowledge on VAT and indirect taxation.
She also advises, on a recurrent basis, companies belonging to different sectors (such as hotel industry, real estate, healthcare, distribution, among others) located in her geographic area in diverse tax matters.
Furthermore, Irene teaches VAT in the Master in Tax Business (College of Business Studies) and in the Fiscal Updating course of the same entity, focused both of those courses on professionals with experience.
She also teaches VAT in the “University expert course on Tax and Accounting advice of Businesses” organized by the School of Business Excellence EXCE.
Likewise, Irene Gonzalez has teaching experience at the University of Malaga and the Institute of Business Practice (Chair of Real Estate Law), as well as, and active participation in various seminars and conferences in relation to Spanish tax legislation, especially with regards to indirect taxation.
