Vasco Rodrigues is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Department of Garrigues, working mainly in Banking &amp; Finance and Mergers &amp; Acquisitions . He specializes in domestic and international transactions and has a wide array of experience in several fields. As a finance lawyer, Vasco has acted for clients in areas ranging from corporate finance, real estate finance, structured finance, mezzanine finance, project finance, restructurings and distressed debt (in particular in the acquisition and sale of non-performing loan portfolios and single-names). As a corporate/M&amp;A lawyer, Vasco works mainly with funds and private equity firms, in buyouts, growth capital investments (using equity, debt or hybrid instruments) and special situations. Vasco's experience in both fields is particularly useful when advising clients in special situations and turnaround transactions.

After completing is Law degree at the Nova School of Law, he studied at King's College London, where he obtained a LL.M in International Business Law, in which he graduated with Merit. Before joining Garrigues in 2016, where he has been a Partner since 2022, Vasco was a Managing Associate at CMS Portugal.

Vasco began his career as a lawyer at CMS Portugal (2004-2016). He previously practiced as an intern at Mullerat (Barcelona office) and Macedo Vitorino &amp; Associados, both in 2002.

He has been a Garrigues partner since 2022. He was promoted to principal associate in 2018 and senior associate in 2016.

He is currently a member of the Garrigues ESG Committee.

In addition to Portuguese (his mother tongue), he is fluent in English and Spanish.
