Experience
Ignacio Londoño Rivera holds a law degree from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota), majoring in International Contracts, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate and Financial Law from Columbia University (New York City). He has over 15 years’ experience in the areas of commercial and business law, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring processes, foreign investment, industrial property and antitrust law.
He has been a professor of Commercial Contracts and Companies at Universidad de los Andes and has lectured on the Legal Aspects of Business on the MBA Program at the university’s Business School for more than 15 years.
From 2001 onwards, he worked at the law firm of which he was a founding partner: De la Calle, Londoño, Lopez & Posada Abogados. Prior to founding the firm, he worked as director of the Bogota Trade Point, a program promoted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development; lawyer for the Revolving Fund of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; lawyer of Fiduciaria Colombiana de Comercio Exterior (FIDUCOLDEX); and at the law firm Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados, where he focused on privatizations (privatization of assets in the Colombian electricity sector), corporate matters and contracts in general.
