Alejandro Sánchez del Campo is of counsel in the Startups & Open Innovation area.
Before joining Garrigues, he was Manager of Legal Affairs at Telefónica, where he worked for over 20 years. In this position he provided advisory services on all types of legal and business matters, and was involved in negotiations with large national and foreign businesses.
Alejandro co-chairs the management of law firms and innovation section of the Madrid Bar Association. In 2016 he received the best digital lawyer award from Asociación Enatic.
He is a professor at Centro de Estudios Garrigues and a regular speaker at various postgraduate and university courses on subjects related to intellectual property, audiovisual technology, new technologies and innovation in the legal sector.
Alejandro Sánchez del Campo is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, and of Asociación Española de Derecho del Entretenimiento (DENAE).
Degree in Law from Universidad de Navarra. Master’s Degree in Corporate Legal Advice from IE Business School. He is also a founder and academic director of the Robotiuris congress which is organized annually by FIDE and Fundación Garrigues.
Editor of replicantelegal.com, a website that studies legal matters relating to robots, artificial intelligence and disruptive technologies. Author of the book “Reflections of a legal replicant” (*) (Aranzadi) and of numerous articles and publications in specialized magazines and websites. Author of a chapter in the books "El nuevo marco regulatorio derivado del Reglamento Europeo de Protección de Datos" (Wolters Kluwer) and “Actualidad Mercantil 2018” (Tirant lo Blanch)
