**The value of pensions for accidents at work is updated annually, in line with the evolution of Portuguese GDP and the CPI in Portugal.**
The evolution of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) led to a 6% increase in pensions for accidents at work.
According to law, the value of pensions for accidents at work is updated annually, in line with the evolution of Portuguese GDP and the CPI in Portugal (excluding housing costs) over the previous two years.
As a result, [Ordinance no. 423/2023, of December 11](https://diariodarepublica.pt/dr/en/detail/government-order/423-2023-229857699https:/diariodarepublica.pt/dr/en/detail/government-order/423-2023-229857699) was published in the Official Gazette, updating for 2024 the pensions for permanent disability and death due to accidents at work to the amount resulting from the application of the 6% increase percentage.
