Garrigues to offer legal services to members of the Spanish Start-ups Association, under special conditions

Spain -

The firm and the association have signed an agreement to help start-ups share in the courses and training offered by Centro de Estudios Garrigues

Carlos Mateo, chairman of the Spanish Startups Association, and Carolina Pina, partner at Garrigues, sign the collaboration agreement.

Garrigues has teamed up with the Spanish Start-ups Association (AES) to jointly promote projects and initiatives that help the Spanish startup ecosystem to thrive.

As part of this partnership, Garrigues will provide AES member start-ups with legal services under special terms that reflect the particular needs and features of these companies. Centro de Estudios Garrigues will also facilitate access to education programs for AES members.

Garrigues has a Startups & Open Innovation service line, which brings together all the firm’s start-up and innovation work under one roof. AES was created in late 2015 to promote entrepreneurship and to nurture and grow the Spanish technological innovation ecosystem, while advocating for the regulatory and legal changes needed for Spain to truly become a “start-up nation”.

Carlos Mateo, chairman of the Spanish Start-ups Association, believes that this agreement is a “fabulous opportunity, in that it allows us to work with a leading law firm in Spain that firmly supports the start-up sector and that will help AES and its members to reach our goals”. “The association wants its members to have the best services, and it also aims to forge strategic alliances with organizations, like Garrigues, that share our vision of entrepreneurship and its social and economic importance”, he added.

Carolina Pina, partner at Garrigues, sees the partnership with AES as a key milestone following on the work the firm has already been carrying out in this field. “We have designed a specific collaboration framework with AES to allow startups to quickly and efficiently resolve their legal questions, which are so vital for their success. Innovation is and has always been one of Garrigues’ hallmarks”.
