As a result of this transaction, Garrigues is now one of the leading law firms in Mexico, with a team of approximately 140 professionals. Under the coordination of Javier Ybáñez, partner responsible for the Latin America group, Garrigues Mexico will be co-led by Jaime Iglesias and Rafael Villamar, who previously served as managing partners of Garrigues Mexico and Sánchez Devanny, respectively. Garrigues, the largest law firm in the European Union by revenue, strengthens its leadership position in Latin America through this integration, adding to its existing offices in Colombia, Chile, and Peru. Furthermore, Mexico, where it has an office since 2014, has now become its second-largest market after Spain. This integration reinforces Garrigues' one-stop-shop model, allowing the firm to offer clients across the region comprehensive legal services. Its teams coordinate cross-border projects and transactions, backed by the firm's international network spanning 12 countries across four continents. One of the key differentiating factors of the new Garrigues Mexico is its strong local presence, with well-established offices in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Querétaro, along with extensive experience and credentials in advising both Mexican clients and foreign investors.
