[Foundation29 (Fundación 29 de febrero)](https://www.foundation29.org/es/) **is a non-profit organization specialised in artificial intelligence applied to health. It creates technological tools based on aggregation, treatment and protection of medical data and its use in intelligent systems that help patients, professionals and industry take decisions**.
The foundation takes its name from the date on which **Rare Disease Day** is held (February 29), diseases for which medicine often has to be personalized.
Its task is to capture data, through technologies that do so simply, continuously and from a person-centered perspective. The foundation collects information from a wide variety of sources and areas with a view to unifying the data and feeding it into information systems. All this information is classified, processed and finally interpreted through artificial intelligence, creating automatic predictive solutions that generate knowledge.
Garrigues collaborates pro bono with [**Foundation29**](https://www.foundation29.org/es/) providing ongoing advice on various matters related to corporate/commercial law, in the management of the office of secretary of the foundation and in relation to data protection, which is of particular relevance given the foundation’s work.
