Juan María is a partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency department.
He has extensive experience in advising Spanish and international companies on out-of-court refinancings and restructurings, as well as on in-court insolvency proceedings, both domestic and cross-border.
Juan María has advised debtors in some of the most important insolvency proceedings conducted in Spain, such as the insolvency of Marme Inversiones 2007, S.L. (owner of Banco Santander’s global headquarters) and its two Dutch parent companies, or the insolvency of Petersen Energía, S.A.U. and Petersen Energía Inversora, S.A.U.
He regularly defends the interests of high-profile creditors and has a wealth of experience in designing strategies to maximize recovery.
He has lectured on the Business Law and International Litigation Master’s Degree offered by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and is a frequent speaker on courses and conferences on insolvency law.
Juan María is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association.
