Alam Rodrigo Carrillo Alonso is a senior associate of the tax law practice of Garrigues in the Mexico City office and has worked at the firm since 2018. Prior to joining Garrigues, he worked for four years in the tax consulting area of a renowned Mexican tax firm.
Alam is a Public Accountant with more than 9 years of experience in national and international tax consulting and planning and is a member of the Mexican Association of Public Accountants.
Throughout his professional career, Alam has advised companies from different sectors, focusing mainly on multinational companies with investments in Mexican territory, which has led him to be involved in several mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings processes of national and international groups, structuring of financial transactions, planning and development of hereditary and personal structures, creation and development of new businesses, divestitures and due diligence processes of purchase and sale.
Alam has extensive experience in the determination of corporate and personal taxes and various tax related calculations contemplated in the Mexican tax provisions. He also has experience in managing tax audit procedures carried out by Mexican tax authorities, tax refund requests, resolution of tax controversies and disputes and in the preparation of expert opinions on diverse accounting and tax matters.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Universidad Panamericana with a major (specialization) in taxes.
- Diploma in Mergers and Acquisitions by the Zagreb School of Economics and Management.
- Business Management Diploma by the IDE Program at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección (IPADE).
Alam is a member of the Mexican College of Public Accountants.
