**Ordinance no. 49/2019, of February 8, was published today in the official gazette, foreseeing the coefficient values to be used to update the annual remuneration to be considered for the purposes of determining the reference remuneration that serves as the basis for calculating invalidity and old-age pensions.**





These new coefficient values to be used to update the annual remuneration, which must be taken into account for determining the reference remuneration for the calculation of the respective pensions – updated using the General Consumer Price Index, without housing – are those included in the Annexes I and II of this Ordinance.

The following aspects and novelties are noteworthy:

**Coefficient values in the situations in which paragraph 1 of article 27.º of Decree-Law no. 187/2007, of May 10, applies in its current version (Annex I):**

- These coefficient values are also applicable in the following situations: 
    - For the calculation of the amount of reimbursement of contributions, as referred to in article 263.º of the Contributive Code, in its current version;
    - For the calculation of the amount of the refund of contributions and contributions unduly paid, as referred to in article 269.º of the Contributive Code, in its current version;
    - When updating the registered remuneration with respect to employees with salaries in debt;
    - When updating the income for the purposes of assigning and renewing the solidarity supplement for the elderly, provided for in article 30.º of Decree-Regulation no. 3/2006, of February 6, in its current version.

**Coefficient values in the situations in which paragraphs 2 and 3 of article 27.º of Decree-Law no. 187/2007, of May 10, applies in its current version (Annex II):**

**Repeal rule**

This regime repeals the Ordinance no. 208/2018, of July 16.

**Entry into force and production of effects**

These new coefficient values enter into force on February 9 and are effective from January 1 to December 31, 2019.
