Throughout the three declarations of State of Emergency, Garrigues has been tracking the legislative output from the Parliament and the Government aimed at minimizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on social and economic sectors.
Now that the State of Emergency has ceased, giving way to a public calamity scenario, it is worth to assess the impact this new situation may have on the array of exceptional legal measures we have been witnessing in connection with the pandemic.
To help visualising how the situation is evolving, we have drawn up the attached table comparing, on the one hand, the measures linked to the State of Emergency and, on the other, the changes arising after the cessation of the State of Emergency and the declaration of a public calamity situation.
