Sustainable tourism

The shift toward a different type of travel that respects cultural integrity, essential ecological processes, biodiversity and other life-support systems means that resources must be managed differently, so they can be used to meet economic, social and environmental needs, fostering sustainable development of both inbound and outbound tourism.

We advise tourism operators on compliance reviews of soft law (standards, guidelines and recommendations) relating to the environment and occupational health and safety, adherence to international protocols, securing of environmental efficiency certificates, and preparation of action plans and protocols for clients and employees.

We also advise public and private institutions on plans for the repositioning of mature tourism destinations: preparation of rules for institutional participation and management; bases for environmental, urban development and tourism legislation; tax and labor incentives and grants for private investmen.

We advise regional and municipal authorities on urban planning and environmental rules and regulations, as well as on the regulation of activities to be implemented to accommodate the use of a city’s or area’s public resources by residents and tourists alike. Conversion of urban tourist destinations into smart cities.
