Tomás Pessanha is a partner in the area of Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, Corporate and Commercial Contracts at Garrigues.

He has over 20 years’ professional experience advising companies and institutional investors, both national and foreign, on matters relation to corporate law, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital and real estate.

Tomás Pessanha is a partner in the area of Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, Corporate and Commercial Contracts at Garrigues in Oporto.

He has over 20 years’ professional experience advising companies and institutional investors, both national and foreign, on matters relation to corporate law, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital and real estate. Before joining Garrigues, he worked at PLMJ, as partner of the Corporate / M&amp;A area.

Tomás Pessanha is frequently mentioned in various directories, such as *Chambers &amp; Partners*; *The Legal 500*; *IFLR1000*; *Best Lawyers* and *Who’s Who Legal*. In 2009, his name appeared in the *40 under Forty Awards of Iberian Lawyer*.

He has also acted as guest lecturer on several postgraduate courses at the Porto Business School.

He is a member of the IBA - International Bar Association (European Regional Forum - Council Member).

He has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1997.

- Course on Accounting and Finance for Legal Experts from the Instituto Superior de Gestão (2000).
- Attendee at the Postgraduate in Management for Legal Experts from the Business and Economics Faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Escola do Porto (2005-2006).
- Program on Negotiation at the Harvard Law School (2007).
