Sonia López Velázquez is a senior associate in Garrigues' Tax Department in the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office, where she has been working since 2018, providing recurring advice to companies and tax groups, as well as to resident and non-resident individuals, in the areas of both direct and indirect taxation.

She has extensive experience in the areas of tax procedure, family businesses and regional incentives of the Canary Islands Economic and Tax Regime (REF).

She has a degree in Law from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as well as a Master's Degree in Law from that university. She also collaborates as a lecturer on the Master's Degree in Taxation program at Universidad del Atlántico Medio (UNIDAM), in the subject of Business Accounting.

She is a member of the Las Palmas Bar Association (ICALPA).
