Ricardo Gómez-Barreda is an Of Counsel in the Tax Department of Garrigues.

Senior Partner of Garrigues from 2011 to 2019.

Managing Partner of Garrigues in 2009 and 2010.

Partner of Garrigues from 1993, started professional career at Arthur Andersen since 1982.

Partner in charge of Garrigues’ Tax Department up to August 2009.

Ricardo specializes in tax advisory services for financial institutions and multinational groups, and in mergers and acquisitions. He has delivered numerous conferences on those subjects at specialized seminars in Spain and abroad.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and of the Alumni Association of Universidad Comercial de Deusto.

He has been a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Expansión and Actualidad Económica.

Ricardo is currently a member of the Board of the Taxand Alliance and of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).

He has been the chairman of the Fundación Impuestos y Competitividad (Tax and Competitiveness Foundation).

He was nominated ‘Star Individual’ by Chambers Europe in 2011 and 2012.
