Maria Isabel is a principal associate - coordinating the transfer pricing team for Garrigues in Latinamerica. She has more than 14 years of experience working on transfer pricing.
Along the years of experience she has worked with PwC, KPMG and Dentons, working on several transfer pricing projects, for compliance with formal requirements and structuring transactions among related parties involving tax planning tools, as well as development of transfer-pricing policies and diagnostics. She works with local and foreign clients on the preparation of disclosure statements and transfer pricing studies, design and implementation of corporate guidelines, diagnoses of intercompany transactions, business restructuring, negotiation of advance pricing agreements (APA), support in conflict resolution processes and preparation of documentation related to the attribution of profits to permanent establishments.
She has worked with clients from various industries and has a deep knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and their implementation and enforcement in different countries throughout North, Central and South America.
Regular speaker in local and international seminars and associate professor in the Tax Specialization of Universidad de los Andes.
