Julio César has more than 10 years’ professional experience, mainly in civil and commercial litigation, as well as in the ensuing constitutional litigation. His experience includes more than 7 years advising and representing clients in trials, commercial bankruptcy proceedings, and in civil liability and moral damages matters. Julio César is also a private mediator certified by the Arizona Attorney General's Office (USA).

His practice has been mainly related to the pharmaceutical, automotive, oil &amp; gas, retail, and banking industries. Julio César was selected to participate as a mentee in the 2021-2022 Young ICCA Mentoring Programme. He has taken part in several diploma programs, including the ICC-ELC Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (2012-2022).

Julio Cesar Osornio is a prinicpal associate in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation &amp; Arbitration practice.

In 2018 he co-litigated a case in which precautionary measures were obtained to secure a US$12 million debt and subsequently participated in the resulting debt recovery procedure.

In 2020 he achieved court validation and enforcement in Mexico of a judgment issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, securing a sum of US$40 million for several insurers.

In 2017, he co-litigated a successful case securing moral damages for an individual in a medical malpractice suit. Subsequently, in 2018, he participated in a lawsuit that resulted in an order to pay a US$3 million debt arising under several master agreements.

He has obtained several favorable judgments while acting on behalf of a retail chain, and successfully defended civil liability and moral damage claims across Mexico.

In 2019 he achieved a favorable judgment for a foreign client whose creditor had carried out a sham sale and acknowledgment of debt before a public broker.

In 2023 he secured favorable judgments for a Mexican bank regarding the nullity of electronic transfers, in a context of high burden of proof for financial institutions. Also in 2023, he obtained a favorable judgment for a U.S. company, securing the recovery of US$600,000 for services provided to a debtor who refused to pay.

In 2018, he litigated a case for the recovery of 42 hectares belonging to a property in Campeche, Mexico, in favor of a Mexican-American client.

In 2019, he co-litigated a successful case securing acknowledgment and recovery of a Mex$28 million claim for a creditor in a commercial bankruptcy proceeding.
