Juan Luis Zayas is a partner in the Tax Law Department at Garrigues. He works in the area of tax law, particularly in relation to advising on M&amp;A transactions and estate and succession planning.

He is the partner in charge of the Family Business and Private Clients area in the Madrid office and of the Garrigues Tax Technical Committee.

He holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. Recognised by the main international directories such as Chambers &amp; Partners and Best Lawyers as a leading lawyer in the Tax and Private Wealth Law practices.

Juan Luis Zayas has been a partner in the Tax Law Department of Garrigues since 2003, a firm where he has developed his professional career after his time at Arthur Andersen where he joined in 1991. He works in the area of tax law, particularly in relation to advising on M&amp;A transactions and estate and succession planning. He is also the partner in charge of the Family Business and Private Clients area in the Madrid office and of the Garrigues Technical Tax Committee.

In the field of M&amp;A, he has extensive experience in the analysis and planning of investment and divestment structures and corporate reorganisations (mergers, spin-offs and contributions). He regularly participates in company acquisitions and transfers, in corporate group restructuring transactions and in the implementation of acquisition structures in private equity transactions.

As head of the family business area in the Madrid office, he specialises in estate and succession planning, in advising on the reorganisation of family groups, the drafting of protocols and, in general, in advising family businesses and private clients on legal and tax matters. In this area he also collaborates on a recurring basis with the main Spanish and foreign private banking institutions and family business associations.
