Hortensia Laqué is a counsel in the Litigation and Arbitration practice at Garrigues, the firm where she has pursued her career since 2002.
She specializes in civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on contractual law and construction and real estate matters. She also specializes in advising both Spanish and foreign financial institutions on banking law matters and the enforcement of judicial and non-judicial instruments. She has extensive experience in inheritance law relating, in particular, to disputes between heirs and challenges to wills.
She also has noteworthy experience in insolvency proceedings from the standpoint of both the creditor and the debtor, including advising companies in distress, in the pre-insolvency phase and acting as legal counsel in numerous insolvency proceedings, including the most significant insolvency proceedings in Andalucía.
Degree in Law, Universidad de Málaga.
She is a regular speaker in seminars and conferences organized by the Firm and various specialist organizations, and has published numerous opinion articles on her areas of expertise in the press. She is also a lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Legal Counseling of the Law Faculty of Universidad de Málaga in the mortgage foreclosure module.
