Francisco M. Serrano is a partner in the Litigation and Arbitration Department at Garrigues, the firm at which he has pursued almost his entire professional career.
His wealth of expertise in international arbitration proceedings conducted in English before the most prestigious institutions, mainly in Europe (such as the CCI, the LCIA, the Zurich Chamber of Commerce), makes him an authority in the firm’s international arbitration practice. He has participated in some of the most high-profile cases taken on by Garrigues in recent years, particularly in relation to contracts, advising and defending clients in the industrial, energy, construction, shipping, automotive, hotel and pharmaceutical sectors, to name but a few.
He can also boast broad-ranging experience in domestic civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, particularly in distribution and unfair competition cases, and in the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and awards
He lectures on the Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, having also lectured for a number of years on the Master’s Degree in Business Law at the same institution, and on the Master’s Degree in Energy Law offered by Club Español de la Energía. He has also spoken at seminars and conferences on arbitration and mediation at a number of specialist centers (IBA, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Kiev Arbitration Days run by the Ukranian Bar Association, etc.).
Francisco M. Serrano is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and is a member of the Mediation Committee of the Spanish Arbitration Club.
