Daniel is the partner responsible for indirect taxation and customs at Garrigues Consultores Tributários, a branch of Garrigues group in Brazil that provides services of tax consulting.
He has twenty (20) years of experience as a lawyer and tax and business consultant, providing consulting and acting in administrative litigation for large- and medium-sized companies in Brazil and abroad.
Until his admission at Garrigues Consultores Tributários, he worked as a tax consultant and lawyer in law firms as well as in audit and tax consulting companies.
In the last years, he was the partner of PwC responsible for the practice of indirect taxation of the offices in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.
He frequently acts in tax planning projects, company acquisition and merger), reviewing procedures in tax areas (indirect taxation), tax advice in audit projects of financial statements and tax administrative litigation, and the customers he serves are engaged especially in telecom, retail, mining, steel, oil, and energy industries.
Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in Law and is attending the bachelor’s degree program in Accounting Sciences; further, he has a master’s degree in Law and is graduated in Tax Law.
He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association and Associate Chief Financial Officer of Brazilian Financial Law Association – ABDF.
In addition, he has great academic and university experience, being a professor of Tax Law Graduation programs of PUC-Rio, FGV/RJ, IBMEC/RJ, FUCAPE and Faculdades Milton Campos, and former professor of Tax Accounting of the UFRJ’s Accounting Sciences Program, with publication of texts, articles, and technical books in the tax field: curriculum lattes:
