Cristina Copete is a principal associate in the Corporate Law/Mergers and Acquisitions team in the Garrigues office in Bogotá. Her M&A practice is focused on transboundary M&A, representing foreign investors and private equity funds in the acquisition of assets in Latin America. Cristina has more than 10 years of experience advising clients in complex corporate operations, contract negotiations and general corporate advice in day to day operations.
She is an attorney from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has an LL.M from Columbia University in the city of New York.
Experience
Cristina joined the firm in 2019. Prior to Garrigues, Cristina worked for eight years in a prominent law firm in Colombia, and the United States.
She has practiced for over ten years advising foreign investors and private equity funds in the acquisition of assets in Latin America, as well as selling shareholders and entities; her most relevant transactions include:
Advising Quiron Salud in the acquisition of Clinica del Prado, Clinica de la Mujer, Clinica Las Vegas, Centro Oncológico de Antioquia, Clinica Oftalmológica de Antioquia, Centro Medico Imbanaco, among others.
Advising Andean Tower Partners in the acquisition of telecommunication infrastructure assets.
Advising Prosegur in the acquisition of PagaFácil.
Advising Tiba Group in the acquisition of Benavides Melo S.A.S., Agencia de Aduanas Bemel.
Advising the shareholders of Medicadiz S.A.S in the sale of 100% of the shares of the Company to Lenus Capital Partners.
