Carlos Silva is senior associate in the labor and employment law practice.
He has twelve (12) years’ experience as labor and employment lawyer and is an expert in providing labor and employment advisory services to companies, implementing collective terms and agreements, labor litigation, and preparing legal audits on labor, employment and pension matters.
His experience includes acting as representative in dealings with the Ministry of Employment concerning applications for collective layoffs and authorizations to dismiss specially protected workers (trabajadores aforados).
In addition, he has speeded up applications for visas for foreigners in Colombia and permits with several professional boards.
He provides ongoing advisory services on adequate payment and settlement of social security and employee benefits and procedures with the Pension and Payroll Management Unit (UGPP).

He is assistant lecturer on various subjects on the MBA program at Universidad de los Andes, which include: social, political and economic climate; organizational behavior and marketing management.
Lawyer of the Externado University, with two post graduates degrees one in Labor Law-Social Security and other in Business Law botht in Rosario University, MBA from Los Andes University.
Several papers published in last years at the legal section of La Republica newspaper such as: “The new requirements for visas granted by Colombian Government”*, “Mechanism for “cesante’s” protection: MCP”* and “The trainee have the right to labor stability”*. Among others.
