Borja de Carlos is a principal associate in Garrigues Intellectual Property Department, where he has pursued his professional career as engineer in the patent field. He specializes in providing technical advisory services in connection with the drafting, proscution and management of patents and patent applications, both domestic and international, pursuant to patent grant procedures at the Spanish Patents and Trademarks Office, EPO and USPTO, as well as PCT procedure. He also specializes in drafting patentability, invalidity and infringement reports. He provides technical support to the legal IP Department in patent infringement and invalidity proceedings. Given his academic background, his main activity focuses on providing advice to companies in the mechanical engineering industry, although he has experience in other industries such as telecommunications and computer-related inventions. He is an Industrial Organization Engineer and Industrial Technical Engineer, from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICAI). He is too European Patent Attorney (EQE).

- Drafting patentability, invalidity, infringement and FTO (Freedom To Operate) reports
