Ander has more than ten years of experience as lawyer specialized in international trade, customs law, Free Trade Agreements and issues related with the World Trade Organization. He specializes in providing assistance to clients in advisory and litigation, as well as antidumping procedures, enhancement export programs (such as the IMMEX Program), customs classification, customs valuation and non-tariff regulations.

Before his incorporation to Garrigues, Ander lead the area of International Trade in national and international law firms specialized in tax and customs law with operations across the Country.

Ander got his Law Degree in the University Carlos III of Madrid and has an LLM by the Instituto de Empresa of Madrid.

Ander Aguirre is a principal associate in the practice of Tax, International Trade and Customs.

His main activities include elaboration of legal opinions in administrative, tax and international trade, as well as provides advisory services to Companies in compliance with their tax and regulatory obligations.

Said legal opinions contain comments regarding the application of benefits for Companies, such as importation applying Free Trade Agreements, as well as obtaining certificates or authorizations to import under enhancement export programs.

As well, he provides guidance to Companies regarding compliance of legal requirements for obtaining and maintaining enhancement export programs, such as elaboration and presentation of reports, analysis and compliance of their legal requirements, among others.

He specializes in elaborating legal arguments for lawsuits and appeals destined to tackle administrative determinations, as well as to provide follow-ups of said defense cases before judges and magistrates, in order to verbally explain the legal arguments at hand.

Furthermore, he has presented tax refunds before the authorities, as well as writs to respond to requirements regarding said tax refunds.

Finally, he has performed supervising activities to personnel under his care instructing and training them on how to best perform their duties and obtain team goals.

He dominates English and has knowledge in Italian.

He studied a diploma in International Trade by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Escuela Libre de Derecho in 2014.
