# Spain: Order approving job evaluation procedure jobs from a gender perspective is published

**This Order seeks to approve and publicize the procedure for evaluating jobs from a gender perspective provided for in Royal Decree 902/2020, of October 13, 2020, on equal pay for men and women, in order to ensure that the principle of equal treatment and nondiscrimination between women and men is applied effectively in relation to retribution.**
[Order PCM/1047/2022, of November 1, 2022, approving and publishing the job evaluation procedure provided for in Royal Decree 902/2020, of October 13, 2020, on equal pay for men and women](https://www.boe.es/diario_boe/txt.php?id=BOE-A-2022-18040) fulfills final provision one of RD 902/2020, which called for the approval of a job evaluation procedure through an order issued after a joint proposal by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy and the Ministry of Equality.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy and the Women’s Institute, attached to the Ministry of Equality, have worked, with the participation of employer and employee representatives, on developing an [**IT tool for evaluating jobs**](https://www.mites.gob.es/es/portada/herramienta_valoracion_puesto/index.htm) that will support the procedure, and they will continue to work on the follow-up of the tool. The Order states that implementation of the procedure by companies will be voluntary and will be carried out by using the purposely created tool to evaluate each job’s contribution to the organization as a whole. The Order also notes that evaluations performed using this tool will be considered to meet the requirements in Royal Decree 902/2022.
The Order entered into force on November 4, 2022.
