Garrigues’ [Restructuring and Insolvency team](/en/areasdepractica/Reestructuraciones/Paginas/Home.aspx), led by Antonio Fernández and comprising partners Borja García-Alamán, Adrián Thery and Juan Verdugo, have consolidated the main cases and legislative developments occurring in Spain over 2012/2013. Specifically, the Spanish chapter of this guide highlights the impact of the current crisis in the Spanish sector, marked by a slowdown in lending and an increase in the number of formally insolvent debtors (up 27.1 per cent compared with 2011). In addition to looking into the Spanish formal and informal insolvency proceedings, the Spanish team analyses the most recent developments, in terms of restructuring and resolution of credit institutions or loan refinancing and restructuring, and the most significant transactions in increasingly active industries, such as banking, media or energy. This edition of The Restructuring Review will be featured, among others, at the IBA Annual Conference in Boston, October 2013, at INSOL’s International Annual Regional Conference in Hong Kong, March 2014 and at the 20th Annual Global Insolvency and Restructuring Conference, in Barcelona, May 2014.
